。 If you send regularly an email that begins with “Dear Mr/ Miss XX“ to your colleague, that means your emails are too formal and show too much distance。 They are cold and unfriendly。 But you also don’t want to be too informal too fast。 For example, if you’re writing an email to a brand new client, you probably wouldn’t start that email with: “Hey, what’s up Sary?” The kind of language is only appropriate for someone you know well, or feel very close to。 And that shows you are unprofessional。 So it’s all about finding that right balance of formality。
