Strange Job of Allah
The Hodja collected over many years 1000 coins and one day a thief came and stole the money。 The Hodja was very sorry and prayed every night。
After many days， a man came and gave 1000 coins to the Hodja。 The Hodja asked：
“What is this？”
The man explained：
“I am a sailor and the ship I was on was in danger。 The waves struck the ship and we were all very frightened。 So I said： ‘If I return safely on land， I will give 1000 coins to the Hodja’ and here they are。”
When the Hodja heard this， he said：
“Dear Allah！ What a strange job you have。 Where did my money go and from where does it return！ What is the use of this？”
參考譯文
真主奇怪的工作
先生多年來積攢了一千個硬幣，後來有一天來了一個小偷，把錢偷走了。先生非常難過，每天夜裡都祈禱。
過了許多天，來了一個人，給了先生一千個硬幣。先生問：
“這是什麼？”
那人解釋說：
“我是個水手，我乘的船遇險了。大浪打到船上，我們都很害怕，於是我說：‘如果我能平安登陸，我要給先生一千個硬幣，’這些就是。”
聽到這話，先生說：
“親愛的真主！你做的工作多麼奇怪呀。我的錢哪裡去了，又哪裡來了！這一切有什麼用呢？”
