On the evening of February 13， Wu Dajing， a well-known skater from Jilin province， failed to make it to the final of Beijing Winter Olympics in 500m track speed skating， his most promising event。 He ended up as the first in the Group B。 After the match， Wu Dajing waved to the audience。 As interviewed， he said with slight regret， “I don’t know if I will participate in a world-class competition in the future。”

On the morning of February 10， Yuzuru Hanyu completed the Men‘s Singles Free Skating competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics while finished his third and possibly the last Olympics with a fourth place。 He forced back his tears in the interview， “ I can’t work harder than this。 It might be an unrewarded effort， but I went all out to fight。”

Yuzuru Hanyu was diagnosed with asthma when he was 2 years old。 “I have never considered that competition is hard just because of my asthma。” In order to overcome the congenital disease， Yuzuru Hanyu needed to spend twice as much time training， which means other players practiced 20 to 30 Quadruple Salchow per day， while Yuzuru Hanyu practiced 60 times。

German speed skater Claudia Perchstein is the oldest athlete at the Beijing Winter Olympics。 She was born on February 22， 1972， and will be 50 years old in a few days。 She is also the idol of Chinese “Veteran” Fan Kexin。
德國速滑選手克勞迪婭·佩希施泰因是北京冬奧會上年齡最大的選手。她出生於1972年2月22日出生，還有幾天就滿50歲了，也是“老將”範可新的偶像。
Pechstein has a brilliant career。 Her first show on Winter Olympics was in Albertville， 1992， and it is now his eighth Winter Olympics trip。 In such an abiding Winter Olympic career， she won 9 Olympic medals， including 5 golds。

“I was not very fast， but I was happy because today I got my goal to race in my eighth Olympic Games。This was important for me，” Pechstein said。

The Winter Olympics have strict tournaments and qualifications， which indicate she will not automatically qualify for the competition just because she has participated in seven times。 Her great efforts led her to Beijing after competing with younger generations。 This is already a reflection of the Olympic spirit。
冬奧會有嚴格的排名賽和資格賽，並不會因為她參加過7屆，就能自動獲得參賽資格。她能參加北京冬奧會，是在付出巨大努力、和晚輩們同場競技後的結果，這本身就是一種奧運精神的體現。
Pechstein’s perseverance and heartfelt love for speed skating have touched many people。 For her， coming to Beijing is already a victory。
