Conduit
你知道，透過第三方利益輸送的英文怎麼說嗎？
可以藉助Conduit這個詞。
它有“管道”的意思：
A conduit is simply a pipe through which things can be passed。
在DOJ的很多官方和解檔案中，經常可以看到這樣的表述：
consultants served as conduits for bribes
其實，就是諮詢公司/顧問被用來利益輸送。
示例：
The company engaged in a criminal scheme to conceal payments to so-called consultants worldwide
who served as conduits for bribes to foreign officials
and others so that they could unfairly obtain and retain lucrative business projects。
Funnel
除了conduit，還有另外一個詞可以用來表示利益輸送。
Funnel是“漏斗”的意思。
用來表示利益輸送，也很形象。
尤其是，實踐中，如果支付給供應商、服務商、諮詢顧問等第三方的部分款項可能被用來利益輸送，那用funnel這個詞就再合適不過了。
示例：
A company was charged with engaging in a large-scale bribery scheme involving the
use of sham consultants to secretly funnel money to government officials
in multiple countries。
Code names
還記得之前做合規盡調的時候，有些公司會在發票背面寫上代號。具體來說，如果某些發票是被用來套現給賄賂的，就在發票背面寫上某個代號，尤其是，會用一些代號來指代受賄方的名字。
這樣的操作，在英文中，就可以用code names來表達。
示例：
The consultant served strictly as an intermediary， who used this slush fund to make payments to third parties。
The recipients were disguised through the use of code names
such as “Exim，” “Ivory” and “Rezone”。
Be silent on
實務中，我們經常會碰到這樣的情形：
針對特定問題，法律並沒有明確規定該如何操作。
在英文中，很多人第一反應是用下面的表達方式：
There‘s no law ……
但事實上，當你想表達“沒有”的時候，還有一種非常地道的用法：
Be silent on
示例：
In our country，
the law is silent on
the private copying of music。 However， the Canadian Copyright Act specifically permits it。
Decisionmaker
Decisionmaker是“決策人”的意思。
如何準確表達受賄人的職位？
受賄物件往往是有職務、許可權的領導，如果你不知道對方的具體職位，直接說賄賂了客戶員工（client employee），其實是沒有準確反映原文的意思。
這種情況下，decisionmaker就可以很好地解決這個問題。
示例：
The bank admitted that its employees conspired to contract with a company
owned by the wife of a client decisionmaker
to
facilitate
bribe payments of over $1 million
to
the decisionmaker
。
這個示例中，還有一個詞語conduit和funnel有類似的意思：
