在日常生活中，我們的中文習慣紮根太深，所以很多表達都會直接翻譯，比如一說到“洗” ，就是
Wash
，但在英文中，可不一定正確！馬上來看這些日常表達，你都能一次說對嗎？！
洗衣服≠Wash clothes
洗是Wash，洗衣服是Wash clothes嗎？
才不是呢！
用“wash”來表達“洗”，偏向於中式思維。
在英語中，雖然“wash” 的意思是“洗滌，沖洗”，但沒有那麼具體化，不能確定“在哪洗”或“洗什麼”。
洗衣服:do the laundry
“
laundry
” 指“洗衣店，洗衣房，要洗的衣物”。
比如《老友記》、《生活大爆炸》等一些美劇中，可以看到劇中人物帶著大量的衣物到洗衣店裡清洗，這種公用洗衣房就是“laundry”。
“
do the laundry
” 才是英語中“洗衣服”的地道表達方式。
當然有時在英式英語中，也用“
do the washing
”表達“洗衣服”。
例句：
It's a good day to do the laundry.
今天是個洗衣服的好天氣。
情景對話:
A：
This sucks! The washing machine is broken! What's wrong with it? Oh, and we don't have any laundry detergent either.
A： 糟糕！洗衣機壞了！這怎麼回事？哦，洗衣液也沒了。
B：
Honey, just take it easy. We don't have to do the laundry at home. Let's just head to the dry cleaners.

吃藥 ≠ eat medicine
在中文裡一提到吃，就想到
eat
，但在英文中關於吃，普遍使用的動詞是
have
，吃午飯
have lunch
，喝咖啡
have a coffee
，要注意的是，吃藥的動詞一定要用
take
。
正確用法是：
take medicine
例句：
Her doctor says she has to rest and take medicine twice a day.
醫生說她必須休息，並且每天要吃兩次藥
開 / 關燈 ≠ open / close light
對於電子裝置的開關，不能直接對應中文中的
open
或者
close
，比如開關手機，電腦，電視，動詞可以用
turn
或者
switch.
正確用法：turn on / off 或者switch on / off
例句：
Don't be scared. I'll turn on the light.
別害怕，我把燈開啟。
